ABOUT PETITE POMME
A doula offers more than just support, we bring a calm presence, practical care, emotional steadiness, and reassurance.
Each doula is different and brings thier own unique strengths and passions. This allows us to offer personalised care tailored to your needs and circumstances.
A postpartum doula is like a warm, steady hug for new parents. We swoop in after birth to make those early days feel gentler, calmer, and a lot less overwhelming. Think of us as your extra pair of hands, your calm voice, your snack bringer, baby whisperer, and someone who supports you just as much as your little one.
I’m here to help you rest, recover, and find your rhythm. My job is to make your transition into parenthood feel supported (and sprinkled with a little extra ease).
DOULAS ARE COOL BUT MUMS ARE COOLER!
ABOUT ME
I’m Becky. Your English-speaking postpartum doula in sunny (and sometimes quite rainy) South West France. I’m passionate about reshaping how women experience the postpartum period and those tender, messy, magical early years of raising little humans.
Born and raised on the south coast of the UK, I studied childhood and early development before spending around five years working across different childcare settings. Then London called, and I pivoted into the whirlwind world of recruitment, where I spent just over seven years exploring all sorts of sectors.
Fast-forward a tiny bit: a move to France, a lockdown, a redundancy… and well, plenty of rosé.
That little life shake-up nudged me back to my roots, and I found myself working as an English-speaking nanny for five years with two small children. It was in this role that I truly discovered the world of doulas and realised that, without knowing it, I had already supported a mother through her own postpartum journey after her second baby. I dove in head first and took a course to become an offical doula. I learnt sooo much and it ignited the fire to start this journey.
Six-plus years living in France and life here has changed me in all the best ways. Things softened, slowed down, and sweetened. My approach to work, wellbeing, and balance shifted completely. I adore what I do. But I also happily enjoy the beautiful places, slow rhythms, and incredible food of the place I’m lucky enough to call home.
A BIT MORE ABOUT ME..
I love to be organised and plan but also love to be silly and playful. My friends, family and partner are the backbone of me. I used to love to stay out late but I go home early these days. I love that I have a home in two places at the same time, I feel very lucky for that.
Food is a massive part of my life, eating it, cooking it, thinking about it, talking about it. I’m that person.
I’m obsessed with pregnancy and postpartum too of course and I really love what I do. It’s real, it’s raw and it’s inspiring. I think women are incredible and the power we hold within us is completely unstoppable. Education around birth and postpartum is something I can’t get enough of. Babies are pretty high up there too, from development to milestones, weaning and growing. I think it’s pretty magicial.
I’m a heart on my sleve kinda gal and move through this journey with open arms and a heart full of gratitude that this is my job!
